If you deep fry pierogies...?

...Do they taste good? Also, is there any spice/seasoning I could add to it to make it taste better?

    I love fried pierogies, boil them for a couple minutes first then fry them for a great texture. for added flavor, try frying them on a bed of onions. and always serve them with sour cream. Cheers


  2. When making Pierogie I sauté a large sweet onion which I cut in circles like onion rings with some butter.  

    After the onions are almost finished add the Pierogie and let them crisp on each side until they are brown.

  4. MMMMM....I love em  I pan fry mine, but you could deep fry them also.  Here is my recipe...check out the spices I use!

    Here is an easy traditional pan fried pierogies recipe. In this recipe I boil the pierogies first. I then lightly pan fry them in olive oil with the garlic, onion, and other spices.

    4 Pierogies

    1 clove of garlic, minced

    1/2 of a medium yellow onion, diced

    1 tablespoon Chardonnay

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    Dash of Tabasco sauce (optional)

    Sea Salt to taste

    Freshly Ground pepper to taste

    Bring water to a boil in a medium pot. Pre heat the iron skillet on medium-high heat

    Add the pierogies to the boiling water. Boil them for 2-3 minutes or until they float. Drain them and set aside.

    Add olive oil to the skillet and let it heat up for about 10 seconds. Add the pierogies and the chopped onions.

    Add the white wine and Tabasco sauce. Let the sauce reduce a bit while the onions turn dark yellow and begin to caramelize.

    Turn the pierogies. Add the garlic. Fry until the pierogies are slightly browned on the outside, and the onions and garlic are golden brown. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

    Add salt and pepper to taste. Arrange the pierogies in the center of a plate, spoon the caramelized onions and garlic over top and enjoy!

  5. They are great deep fried!  You sprinkle a little salt on afterward like you do french fries and it would taste good.
