  4. I agree and to me the most important thing is that the children have fun and have a chance to play with different types of preschool instruments. Dancing is also important. I think that music can be a center also. You could even have a keyboard set up for the children to try out. Music instruments should be available all the time. I like to sit with several of the children and show them the best way to handle the instrument (like drum, shakers etc.) and then let them do their own music with it. It is also fun to have a child direct as in an orchestra and show them how to start and stop the players. There is so much you can do with music:instruments, dance, clapping, stomping etc. We also have a formal time with a music teacher once a week. She teaches to the child's age level, high and low, soft and loud, timing etc. Fun should be the main ingredient. And don't forget singing!
