Of course. Its very uncommon to take calculus only in high school. There isn't just one year of calculus, at minimum there's 2, and most technical sschools offer 3 or 4 years of specified calculus.

Even if you do take it in HS, colleges/university's want you to take the course as a "refresher" course!  So...there's your answer!

Absolutely. A lot of kids don't take calculus in high school.

Yes, calculus is a common freshmen course.  It's useful for most sciences and engineering majors, and sometimes pre-med.  But you don't have to take it if you don't want to.
