  1. The E11 card is to cover emergency medical treatment.  It should be down to the insurance company to pay for the return of the body...that's why it's always best to make sure you are fully covered when traveling anywhere.  Believe me, the unexpected can happen at anytime.

In the last year my husband has had a brain haemorrhage, I fell over and broke my elbow, and just after that healed I broke my fifth metatarsal whilst we were on holiday here in the UK...thankfully my car breakdown cover (provided by my car insurance company) was able to get us, the car, and the caravan home....it's not easy climbing into the back of a high breakdown wagon with your leg in plaster!

Insurance, insurance, insurance...never go anywhere without it!

  2. Insurance company hopefully.

    If not, family or friends.

  3. The family of the person who died I assume.

  4. Pretty sure that your travel insurance covers it.

Not the actual funeral.. but the return.

    Could be wrong.

The E111 is not enough. You need adequate travel insurance.
