If you dissolved a different substance than sucrose in water and measured the density of the resulting soution could you estimate its concentration from the calibration curve developed in this experiment.

This experiment is about Composition and its effect on density using sucrose(sugar).

  1. You need to give some more information about what "this experiment" is. What kind of calibration curve? Compostion of what?

  2. No.  A density versus concentration calibration curve that was generated using sucrose won't be applicable in general to other substances.  See here for an example of the differences:
