If you don't get called for call backs, doe that mean you didn't make the play? I thought that call backs were usually only used for the important roles, or would they use it for even things as chorus members? I just wanna know if not being invited to call backs means ur not in the play at all...

  1. Not receiving a call back does not automatically mean that you were not given a part in the show. It may just mean that you are not up for a lead role or a solo. Another possibility, though this is quite rare, may be that the director already knows that they want you for a "big" part and don't need you to audition again. You are always informed later on if you recieved a part or not. So, you can still be in the play even if you didn't get a call back. :)

  2. Getting called back just means the director wanted to hear more from you.  Nothing is ever final until the cast list is posted.  One time I got a call back for a show, was really excited because I loved the show, then the director casted someone who wasn't even called back for the part!  Call backs do nothing but toy with emotions.

  3. it simply depends. if it's for a major musical you may not need the call backs because they already know that they can use you, just not for a leading part. if it's for a smaller cast (non musical) i would assume that you didn't get the part. with the call backs they want to see the different combinations that they can use, and where they can put someone into the cast so it's necessary to have them physically there. plus that's usually where you get a shot at reading part of the script...cold readings.

  4. No if you don't get called for call backs that does not mean that you didnt make it. When you get called for call backs that means that they just want to see or hear you again.  Good Luck!
