My boyfriend called his parents to tell them that he didn't pass his PT test for basic training (Army) so he's not on the grad list. BUT he said he has to take the PT test again next week. If he passes this one will he be put on the grad list??? will he be able to graduate with everyone? And can we still see him on family day whether or not he's on the grad list???

Please help

  1. They graduate everybody in the end.

  2. Yes.  He can pass the APFT an hour before the graduation ceremony and still graduate.  As graduation day gets closer, they will test him as much as they can until he passes.  Their job is to graduate soldiers, so they will do everything they can to make him walk across the stage with the rest of his company.  It makes them look bad if they have a PT failure.  If for some reason he can't pass the test before graduation, he will unfortunately be sent to another company and have to go through a lot of the same training again.  If this happens they will send him to the company that is the closest to graduating next, more than likely somewhere in Phase III.  He will then get more chances to pass.  If he continues to struggle they will just separate him from the Army.

  3. Yep, he didn't pass his first one he should at least get 2... possibly 3 more times to pass it and he will graduate with everyone and have no problem... they will give him the final one the day before Family day more than likely... so if he passes one then he will get a phone call and say he's ok and can graduate... Hope he passes.
