If you don't take out the carbon from the cartige what will happen

for certain medical treatments it says to take out the carbon from the filter what will happen if you don't

Carbon is a chemical media and will absorb and neutralize the meds. The treatment of meds will be ineffective if the carbon is left in. Then put the carbon back after treatment to absorb the rest of the meds. I never use carbon in my filters unless after I medicate.

it will filter the medication out of the water therefore not treating your fish. If you are going to treat you fish take out the carbon filter =]

Carbon absorbs chemicals from the water... thats what it's for.

Most medications are a chemical - the carbon absorbs them, so they dont work..
