I have decided I am going to pick up golf. I have been a couple times with borrow clubs and like the game. I have the chance to get some Orlimar ZX-P irons for a price thats nearly free. I notice these irons are fade correction irons (supposed to be minor). How would that affect me being a new player. Would they just correct the issue if you have it and if you dont no big deal, or am I looking at something that could cause bad habit as I learn to play with them? The price makes it really easy for me to pick up golf without forking out much money.

  1. One golf magazine did a study a few years ago and found that 90% of amateurs have problems with the slice. With a slice, the ball starts right and curves further right. With a fade, the ball starts left and then heads right.

Jack Nicklaus played a fade. It's not a bad thing, becuase the ball tends to spin high and fall back into the fairway.

So ... given that as a beginner, odds are that you're going to slice, you really need slice correction clubs.

  2. Best thing you can do is get yourself a lesson with a qualified pro,  learning the basics is absolutely essential,  most of these types of clubs are just gimmicks that dont do much but make us buy them.
