Question:

If you dont poke holes in the cake would the jello go down?

cause i want the jello to be solid on the top and the cake solid on the bottom, no mixing both together

  1. It would soak in, that picture looks like the cake was frosted and the jello was set up in a pan of the same size separately and unmolded on top  of the frosted cake.


  2. In the picture, the bottom layer of cake had jello poured onto it...and it absorbed it.  

    The second layer looks like whipped cream (or cool whip) with sliced fruit on top.  All the way to the pan edges or it will 'leak' when the top layer is added.   Make sure it is completely set before starting the top layer.

    The top layer is just jello...you MUST cool the jello down, to a thickened consistency....then carefully pour over the whipped cream, make sure the whipped cream goes all the way to the edge of the pan or the jello will soak through.

  3.   If you poke hole in the cake and the jello is not already thickening y will go down and make a mess in the cake.  On way to prevent this from happening is to put a light mixture of butter cream in the part of the cake that will be againt the jello  and pour it on the top.
