  1. It depends on the fluids. If you're drinking smoothies with protein, your metabolism may in fact speed up. As a general matter, the body burns more energy trying to digest solid food.

    To boost your metabolism, try eating foods which speed it up such as curry.


  2. Yes, most likely, you can't possibly get all the nutrients you need through fluids only, unless you take the foods and mix them in a blender.

    That will, in effect, make your body think there is lack of food and slow down your metabolism to preserve fat storages.

    If you are getting all the proper nutrients in your drink, and having this drink every 2-3 hours, then your metabolism won't slow down.

  5. it depends on the fluids you are consuming.  if you are getting plenty of calories for your level of activity then no.

    If you are drinking only water then yes in time your metabolism will slow down.

    It's not the format of the food but the calories available from it that impact this.

    BUT if you drink only fluids for a long time you may have other health issues...

  7. Fluids won't effect your metabolism.  More times than not people mistake thrist for hunger.  Drinking water 120-150 oz of water daily is reccomended.
