  1. Your friend was driving illegally, insurances normally don't cover illegal drivers.

  2. Of course, your friend should not of been driving while his license was suspended. But, numerous drivers out there do the same actions, and so a portion of insurance carriers will accept this risk. Generally, if the carrier was aware of his status when the policy was issued, he should be fine; because, they would of cancelled his policy by now. The best thing for your friend to do is contact his agent/representative and confirm with them.

Therefore, your answer will not be an easy yes or no. The answer will depend upon the guidelines of the carrier he is insured with. If it comes back, that his specific insurance carrier does not promote this type of risk, than he will become liable for the expenses of this accident. Also, depending upon MA's DMV guidelines. His license's suspension may become extended.

Hopefully, your friend is with more of a flexible insurance carrier. If they are not, and he continues to keep driving. He should pursue a carrier that will promote this type of driving. There are a good portion of carriers that will; but, the household name's like AAA, State Farm, Allstate, etc will of course not accept this.

  3. It will cover you until the insurance company fnds out your suspended and cancels your policy.

If the policy is still active and he is a named insured on the policy then it would be covered.

Of course if the police pull your friend over and find he is driving on a suspended license they can issue tickets as well make an arrest and take your friend to jail and impound the vehicle being driven.

Also if they are called to the scene of an accident your friend can be ticketed and can be arrested for ignoring his license suspension.

Your not supposed to be driving when the license is supended. So hopefully they will arrest your friend for driving on a suspended license before they actually injure someone.

They don't just suspend a license for no reason.

    Take care
