return to work? I am 4 months pregnant and me and the nurse practitioner figure out that is is caused from my small and sugary breakfast and standing in the same spot cutting off blood circulation. The plan is for me to eat breakfast high in protein everyday limit sugar and increase fluids.

So is my boss right to send me home?

  1.   I think so....it's good that they just want to make sure you are going to be OK before going back to work.

  2. Yes, that definitely sounds right to me.

  3. Yes.  Every employer has a responsibility to assure their worker's are healthy enough to be at work, to not pose a danger to others, or themselves.  Certainly they don't line up everyone for a physical each morning, but a faint is a pretty bright red as far as flags go.  If you went back to work, fainted again and harmed yourself or someone else, imagine the law suit.  Your employer KNEW you had fainted, yet, they allowed you to come back to work without a doctor's ok.  You could sue, someone else could sue.  What if you fainted and (god forbid) fell on something and had a miscarriage.  Your employer is absolutely doing the right thing.

  4. Yes it was right.  He was looking out for you and your unborn child and also protecting the company.  If your doctor's is aware of the situation, he/she will have no problems writing the note.  I am pregnant with twins and I have not fainted or anything while I was here, but I had to bring a note stating that it is okay for me to work.  Good luck!

  5. Not to sound mean but, what do you think they should have done?  Keep you there?  A pregnant woman who fainted ......

  6. Yes he was looking out for you and your baby.

This happened to me 3 out of 4 pregnancies.  Make sure that you eat, don't skip any meals and make them healthy.

  7. yes because you could be a dangerous liability in the work place.

  8. I fainted twice at a job during my pregnancy. I wasn't sent home but I was fired a few weeks later. Yes, your boss is right to send you home. Try to take a break and sit down sometimes.

  9. Absolutely.  And you do need a statement from your physician, not a nurse, that you have been examined and are fit to return to work in order to return to work.
