If you feel like you should apologize for something, you should do it, right?

I just feel like I'll be being dramatic, because the apology is for something that happened long ago. Should I let it go?

  1. The situation is still bothering you; yes apologize and tell them you haven't been able to get it out of your mind.  It's really difficult to apologize to someone but it's a good thing to learn to do.  An apology erases hard feelings.

  2. It can never hurt to right a wrong, even after a long period.

  3. Sometimes I feel like people want to say sorry not because they want the person that they wronged to feel better, but because they want themselves to feel better.

So I always say this: If saying sorry would make that person you wronged feel better, then you should say it. Better late than never to rectify the situation.

If you are thinking of saying sorry for something that you did wrong but the person did not know about (like cheating or lying, etc), then it would not do that person any good to reveal a big scandal like that years later.

  4. It depends what it is. If it's something that was a huge ordeal, an apology is always a good way to mend broken bridges. However, if it was something not so important, let it go. Sometimes rekindling the past just stirs up old problems, and it's best to just move forward with the little things, not backward. Good luck!

  5. If you'll feel guilty by not apologizing, then you should probably apologize.  You may think that it will seem dramatic, but perhaps the other person would really appreciate an apology despite how long ago the incident occurred.  And if they've already let it go, then they'll just say it's ok or no big deal.  I don't really think you have anything to lose by apologizing for whatever you did.

  6. Yes you should. The apology will help you move on with your life.  It sounds like you are wanting to do the right thing

  7. Hey I feel that way alot.  I even apologize for having a different opinion on things.  Like just the other day one of my colleagues at work asked why I really like my job and didn't understand how I could be there for almost four years.  I told her for one, it's cause I recently been promoted and I like it and everyone there (she doesn't like the job).  She asked me making it look like it's a crime to like what I'm doing.  So I apologized by saying "Hey, I'm sorry if I really love my job." So I sometimes feel like my opinions are wrong and I must say sorry; lol
