  1. The loan was for the computer so I suppose they could. If you can't afford the computer, how do you afford internet access. I suppose if you lose the computer you can always go to your local library or internet cafe.

  2. As silly as it sounds, and it has happened, it's a secured debt and if you still owe on the loan for it, you can re-affirm on the debt (agree to pay the loan as usual), but....after paying that and the interest, if you include it in the bankruptcy, you can then put some money aside later on and buy one for cash. If they want the computer and you don't re-affirm the loan, they can ask that you return it.You can ask your attorney what you can do. Personally, I'd give it up...it isn't worth having another payment after filing the other debts. Wipe the slate clean and start re-building your credit.

    Good Luck!

  3. Hey Jason, I would probably ask the attorney who filed/will file the bankruptcy paperwork for you. They generally do free consultations. By the time you file the bankruptcy, however, the fees will have cost as much as it would have to pay the laptop off.

    I hope this helped.
