If it is really really small and wasnt in a ground nest or anything, it appeared to have fallen or something. Could it be saved/helped?

  1. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly.   You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it.  If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest.  Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched.  If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival.  Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own.  Look for a rehab here:

  2. yes it can because i used to find them on

the ground all the time and would take them in

and care for them.I would 1st put them in a shoe

box with a cloth in it so they wouldnt wonder off enywhere

or get hurt and then i went to the store and bought canned wet dog food to feed them. And to feed them all you need is

a stick and then you get a lil meat on the stick and put it in there mouth and u keep feeding them till they stop wining and to give them water all u need is an eye dropper.

hoped this helped and good luck!!!! =)

  3. SOMETIMES NATURE HAS A REASON FOR THINGS HAPPENING-IT PROBABLY WAS SICK AND WOULD NOT HAVE SURVIVED ANYWAYS. SORRY YOU HAD TO SEE IT BUT THAT IS NATURE.

I COMMEND YOU {ALL I CAN DO IS GIVE YOU A STAR-BUT IS MEANT SINCERELY} FOR NOT BRINGING IT IN THE HOUSE-WILD BIRDS ARE WILD BIRDS.IT COULD HAVE BEEN SICK WITH DEADLY BIRD FLU . TELL MOM YOU DESERVE A TREAT FOR BEING SMART!!!!

  4. Look for a nest in the tree and return it there, or if it's learning to fly, put it in a protected area so cats can't get to it; it should be able to fly off eventually.

  5. If you find a baby bird on the ground the best thing is to put it back into the nest.  The parent birds will come take care of the chick if you handle it.  If the nest has been destroyed or you can't find it; put the chick in a small container with soft towels (either paper or fabric) and call the closest vet or rehab organization.  So far this year I have raised a Nuthalls woodpecker, a crow, 2 ducklings, a pigeon, and a Stellar's Jay.
