  1. Taking property that does not belong to you that is not offered for free is stealing, so yes.

I would contact the store near where you found the purse and give them the wallet but keep the cash with you and leave your number inside the wallet or tell the store if the person comes to pick up the wallet to call you. Don't leave the money in the purse or wallet because if it is not claimed, then you lose out on the money and you essentially give it away to someone else. Also, you can't be sure that the person you turn it in to (even the police) won't steal the money and say it was found missing.

So, if you really want to get the valuables back to the person, locate them yourself or leave your contact information and deal with them in person. Don't hand in anything to someone else.

  2. Yes it is stealing if you keep something that does not belong to you if there is a means of returning it.

The kids mom explains why the kid stole it, he is a product of her teaching she must be a thief too. I can not believe she did not make him apologize for the inconvenience! People lose things all the time, that does not mean you can keep everything you find.

What a horrible world we live in. Who knows you may have offered up a reward if the kid would have given it back immediately.

  3. yes one time at walmart iwas buying a card and some eyebrow jewlry the lady accidently put a huge real diamond ring in my bag and when i got home to see the card there was that ring it said 1,456 dollars paid in full I drove back to walmart and gave it back .I did not receive anything for doing this but it felt good and I knew if I would have kept it that would make me a theif. people should at least try to return it

  4. It is stealing.  I would have turned him into the police.  Let's see how the mother likes THAT on her record and her little boy's record.

  5. Yes, I would consider that theft, especially since you were trying to get it back and they were receiving you messages and ignoring you. They are guilty and there is no if, ands or buts about it, it's clear and simple.

  6. Yes.
