  1. I WOULD KEEP IT AND GIVE IT TO MY 3 YEAR OLD TO DRAW ON THE UNWRITTEN SIDE, WHAT WOULD IT BE DOING ON A TRAIN IN THE FIRST PLACE, SURELY THE PERSON RESPOSIBLE FOR IT WASN'T.........

  2. Police

  3. Had this conversation with hubby last night.  I work in the media and I certainly wouldn't be running straight to the BBC!  Wouldn't even enter my head to take it to the media.  I'd try to get it back to it's rightful owner.  And I'd hope my fellow human beings would do the same for me.

  4. the police.

but i'd (video-) record my actions whilst handing it in.

  5. The broadcasting media- there should be no secret government anything in a free society- without the media, slanted as it is on most occasions, there would be no restrictions on curbing government excesses. Freedoms are chipped away on a daily basis in the U.S. In a short while we will be the government of the government , by the government and for the government. Our forefathers would be very saddened by this development.

  6. i would probably copy it. then call scotland yard lol

  7. I'd hand it over to the police and I think it's pretty scummy to hand it to the media.  This is the possible security of our country fer god's sake!  At least the BBC had the decency to hand it to the police.  If that d**k had handed it to some crappy tabloid, they'd probably have published the thing.

I think the people who are saying stuff like "I'd hand it to the tabloids in order to teach the government a lesson not to be so careless" have their heads up their @rses.  If you were better citizens, the government wouldn't have to be so careful.

  8. The news paper preferably the highest bidder ! lol that would teach them to look after important documents ! SO ( C ) I'm afraid ;-)

  9. After i was done reading it,the police :)

  10. The highest bidder.

    Capitalism Rocks!

  11. The highest bidding newspaper lol

  12. I would annonymously leave it at the police station. I wouldn't want anyone to kill me thinking I know some top secret information. (I watch too much tv, huh?)

  13. I might just shread it and say nothing.

Once you have seen a top secret file they will not assume you have not read it or copied it.

Your life would never be the same.

  14. the police right away ,,

  15. I would post it anonymously to the press on the the basis that if our intelligence operatives are so inept, they and their organisation deserve all they get from the media, and the may prevent any future ba**s ups.

  16. I would go home and call up the local United States CIA   FBI or treasury department tell them

    .. . ..

Keep the document out of the media's hands let the need to know people handle it

    .. . ..

  17. The police.

  18. As a journalist, I would copy the information and return the file to the appropriate intelligence agency.

I would not trust the police at the local level to have the expertise to handle such a file.

But in returning the file, I would want an explanation of how this breach of security was allowed to happen, and hope to find what changes the agency would make to secure such files in the future.

Simply returning the file and doing nothing does not solve the problem of supposedly responsible people acting irresponsibly.  I would not want to be charged later with being part of a cover-up of government failures to protect the public.

But the bottom line is that I would return the classified files to the rightful owners just as I would if I found a moneybag on the train.

    ON THE OTHER HAND

If a government agency wanted to earn great credibility for false documents supporting the government's position, would you....

    a) Call a press conference

    b) Leak the information to a trusted reporter

    c) Pass the information to a pro-government lobbying group

    d) Leave the file on a train or in a restaurant

    e) Do something else with the file

  19. The Sunday Post

  20. i would read through it first copy it if it was any good and send copies of it by hand to each and everyone of the places/people on the list.

  21. Definitely the police,  but I see what your getting at!!

I wonder whether the BBC paid him a six figure sum for handing the documents in???     They seem to be throwing our money at jonathan ross and chris moyles these days

  22. My Mum, she'd know what to do..

  23. To however it belonged to,  or the police.............the only only choice.

  24. oh okay, i;d give it to the police.
