  1. bad the old owners are very irresponsible and could of other tried giving it away, called a pet shop to find out if they do the adoption programs many different sites on the net or phone book or even given the dog to the spca and say they found it so they wouldnt be charged a fee. if i saw the people drop the dog off then take off and i had the chance id take thier licsence plate number and call the police. very arregent the dog could get hurt by people kicking at it to get off thier property, cars, other dogs.  id take it in and call stores close by for them to put adds up or the spca but i wouldnt keep it either we have alot of mouths to feed already

  2. Where we live I would think it is a normal thing! Because we find strays all the time.Sad but true.

  3. i am not quit sure of your question but if there was an abandoned or stray dog in my yard then i would feel bad 4 it and i would keep it and take care of it

  4. If I found an abandoned dog in my backyard and if he was friendly, I would first try to contain him in some way.  This way, if he's friendly and your considering keeping him, I would first contact vets & post flyers to make sure no one is looking for him.  I would also bring him to the vet to make sure he's healthy before bringing him inside my home..

It's never a good thing to find an abandoned dog, sometimes dogs get loose and people are looking for them and other times people dump them.

If he's a really nice dog, I would try my best not to have to take him to the shelter.

  5. First I would take it to the vet to have its neck scanned. If it is microchipped, then you can find the owner easily.

If it is not microchipped, I'd put up "found posters" and keep the dog as long as I was able too--if the owner contacts you, they can reimburse you for the scanning fee (if there is one) and any other money you paid to feed the dog.

If the owner never calls and you are capable of taking care of it, then keep it! Dogs are great!

  6. Pretty much the same thing you here in the movies really (haha)

-that is if u want it, u post flyers around the neighborhood and keep it until either someone claims it or if nothing comes of it you can keep it

-however if u don't want it, look up the nearest shelter, where they can do the flyers and such, and if they can't find they're owners they will put it up for adoption (if u ask, most likely the shelter will keep u posted on how the dog is doing)

*my opinion=being a dog lover, ithink that if no one comes for it god just dropped a lil furry companion into ur lap, ur turn to decide what road you take

  7. a great thing i would take it in

  8. Great thing! I love puppies. I'd of course try to find its owner, craigslist, etc. But after, maybe try to find it a good home, or bring it in to join mine.

  9. How would you know it was abandoned and not just a run away?

  10. A good thing.  Because I'd help him find his owner and take good care of him.

  11. Good thing. ;)

    Because 3 dogs isn't enough :(

  12. its problie just run away a lot of people dont have collars do not go near the dog it could hurt you bite or attact you

  13. Bad thing,Because theres no way in h**l that id be able to keep it with already having two.

So it would be up to me to find roof to go over its head, what if i put it to my local rescue centre & what if didnt find a home? id feel pretty rubbish about it.

  14. about 11 years ago,  I found an abandoned  dog not in my yard, but at work... over time  I was the one she adopted and trusted enough to give her some food, and check her for tags and so forth.. Once i bought her a collar and try-ed to put it on her I knew it wasn't abandoned but most likely never Had much human contact.. so in that sense I was allowed to take her home.. we had her  fixed and she was checked for an implant at her 1st physical and she had no tattoo itsbeen at least 10 years  and  she and I have been together I wouldn't have changed a thing...

  15. good cause id help find its owner and take it to the vets to  see if it had a microchip. And id look afterhim/her in the meantime, puppies and dogs are just the cutest ;]

  16. I think it was a bad thing because no one should abandoned their dog.

  17. Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing depends on if you just dump the dog at a kill-shelter (bad thing), or take care of it and try to find the owners (good thing).  If you can't find the owners, you can contact a rescue organization, find it a home, or give it one yourself!

One morning a toy poodle showed up on our doorstep.  She was in terrible shape---dirty, flea-ridden, hot spots, mats, etc.

We took her to the vet and they said the was at least 8 years old and was mostly blind and deaf.  After unsuccessfully trying to find her owners, we decided to keep her and she has been the greatest dog!  She's smart, sweet, a little bossy, but the greatest joy and we LOVE her!  So you could say in our case it was a GOOD thing!  =o)
