If you freeze something completely, say food wil it never go off?

Even ice evaporates; just quite slowly.  That's why there's no water or ice on the moon. The other problem is that freezing something also dries it out severely.  I found a venison roast I'd forgotten in the bottom of my freezer last fall, and although it had never thawed, it was unfit for consumption.
