My friend studies eleven thoroughbred handicappers for each race. If at least seven pick a horse to win, this is the horse he will play. Is this a good betting strategy?

  1. Instead of studying handicappers, your friend should learn to read the form on a horse.

A horse race is a multitude of variables.

Is the horse going up or down in class and distance?  Dirt, turf or synthetic? Is there a trainer or jockey change?  Is the horse running on Salix for the firsst time?  Or running without it after consecutive races with it?  Does his pedigree say he is a sprinter and he's going long?  How does the horse look and act today?

Your friend should familiarize himself with conditions, bloodlines, medications, jockeys and trainers.

  2. yes, the handicappers get the information a few

days in advance of the rest of us. but in the long

run they will still have only 33% winners.....

  3. No!!!!............I would never put my money up for someone else's picks..........Odds are if 7 out of 11 are picking the same horse they're picking the favorite in the race........Your friend needs to have confidence in his own choice and not rely on anyone else..........Your friend is putting up his money so the choice should be his...........CAT

  4. It depends on the handicappers your friend is studying!
