If you get a ticket in new york city for driving without insurance can you beat it in a hearing?

the vehicle is presently uninsured although the vehicle is mine. got the ticket in june 2008, i had liability that expired in march 2006.

  2. New York is a mandatory insurance state, so to answer your question, no, I dont see how you can beat it in a hearing. The only way around this would be to show proof of insurance that was in effect BEFORE the date of the ticket itself.

  3. really, are you really asking this question???

    You're going to go to court and a judge is going to ask you for proof of insurance, which you won't provide and he'll continue to give you a fine and probably impound the vehicle until you show proof of current insurance.
