If you get an apartment, how do you ensure you get a 416 landline?

Because I don't really want a 647 landline. I have a 647 cell phone and I'm cool with that, but I gotta have a 416 landline, otherwise I will seriously not move to a new place over the summer.

So, how do I ensure I get a 416 landline? Thanks.

Call Bell and request it.  If they want to give you a 647, call and setup Rogers home phone.  They wanted to give me a 647 i insisted a 416 and got my way.

Call up the phone company you will be dealing with and request a 416 number.

You should be able to get a 416.

I have always found it pretty funny that everybody has to have the 416 numbers, it is almost like a hierarchy in Toronto.   It really does not matter in the end, however I can't judge all three of my phone numbers are 416.
