If you get butterflies in your stomach then do you have to love that person romantically?

I noticed that sometimes when I talk to this one friend on AIM, in person, or even just think about her, I get butterflies in my stomach. Only sometimes, not always. But just because that happens, does that mean I love her in a romantic way, or just as a really good friend?

  1. Who says that your 'butterflies' need have anything to do with 'Romance'...?  Is it ordained that this is what these feelings mean?

Personally, I do get rather (very) tired of people assuming that if 'you experience this or that, then it must mean this or that'.

How about butterflies being a symptom of fear, a fear or discovery as to what it is you are truly about ....those things that go on inside your heart n head that you would much rather not be spoken of out loud!

    Them what creates anxiety!

How do you experience the difference between anxiety, fear, butterflies, heartache etc?

Sorry, I don't mean to rain on your question, but your feelings of butterflies are something seen to be taken for granted, and I'm looking to question such clarity's.

    Sash.

  2. It can be both.

You will know for sure as time passes.

  3. Ur butterflies might be feelings of lust instead of love.
