Well here is the situation, my friend got a ticket for speeding in a car registered to my mom, I was in the car and said it was my car he didn't ask me for ID or anything, just issued my friend a ticket, but there isn't a notice that will be sent to my mom saying my friend got a ticket in a car registered to her, will there?

  1. Yes; if the Police find out that the Car does not belong to you they ask you how you got the car and if you were given permission to use it. They then contact the person who the car is registered to so they can check if its stolen.

  2. yes

  3. NO…you’ve got nothing to worry about! There will be no letter advising the registered owner that someone else got a ticket while driving their car.  If the cop was suspicious about the ownership and who was driving it at the time, he/she would have attempted to contact your mother during the traffic stop.

Look, millions of people get traffic tickets while driving a car they don’t own. Do you really think police departments would pay enormous amounts of postage to send letters to all owners advising them that someone else got a ticket while driving their car?  No way as the cost would be extremely prohibitive! They want to keep every nickel of the fine for themselves :)

However, if the vehicle was in an accident and your mom’s insurance company got involved… the insurance company would definitely notify her.

  4. if you got a moving violation, they will find out.sometimes,if you are a real smartass with the police, they will contact there gistered owner when they have you pulled over and ask if you are allowed to be driving the vehicle, and if they cant reach them, you be walking.

  5. i take it your friend did'nt have insurance ever
