I do always give food to the local food pantry, but tend to try to get a lot for my buck as opposed to name-brand quality stuff.

  1. Actually, I don't do a special shopping trip for food drives.  I take the opportunity to clear out all the stuff in my pantry (checking for expiration dates) and also add toilet paper, baby wipes, paper towels, etc. to the mix.

I wouldn't give anything to anyone that I myself would not want.

  2. I give what's in my pantry. Sometimes it's brand and sometimes it's generic. 2D

  3. Usually when I give to the food drives it is when the group knocks on my door.  I give what is ever in my pantry from name brand to store brand.  I just make sure I check the date that it is still good, it annoys me when people give expired stuff.
