If you go to a dmv office can u take permit test free?

i just took the drug and alcohol test online, and i failed the permit test twice, but i want to go to the dmv and take it. us it free? cuz the website im on charges $20 for everytime you retake the test.

depends on what state you live in.  Some places let you take it free the first time but charge if you have to retake it.  Some let you take it for free until you pass it.

All of them will charge you for renewing your license so it doesn't matter if the test is free or not, you will still have to part with money to get a license.

omg!!! so why the h**l did you not ask this question first??? yes its free to take the test if you pass but then you will have to pay for your permit that day...but if you fail the test you have to pay a 10 dollar processing fee
