If you go to an outpost of a reputable state university...?

that doesn't have quite the same reputation, is that going to hurt your transcript?

I'm thinking I'm going to want to go to graduate school, so my undergraduate college does matter.

  1. Satellite campuses vary greatly in quality. If the campus has its own faculty, it may not be perceived at the same level of rigor as the main campus. However, some satellite campuses are staffed by the main campus faculty (either in person or by distance learning), in which case you get the same exact course content..however, the newer or weaker faculty often get the "travel" assignment. Either way you look at it, the reality is that a grad school not intimately familiar with the satellite campus will probably have some bias against that coursework--view it much more like community college. Go to the best campus you can afford and make the best grades you can manage.
