  1. Start with questions on the IA Dept organization.  Where does IA Dept fit in the company's overall  organization (ie who does the IA Dept Manager report to and why is it that way?)

IA Dept staff (how organized, size, mix/makeup of people, etc)

IA Departmental employee turnover rates and how is it dealt with?

What resources are used for attracting and hiring new employees?

How often is audit cycle repeated (for repeat audits)?

Are the audit programs standardized, cataloged, how often updated, etc.?

Does IA Dept have a "Non-Financial" or what is sometimes referred to as "Operational/Procedural" audit staff???  (Used for auditing areas such as Corporate Purchasing, Corporate Transportation, Human Resources, etc.) Have they ever considered it?

How important is (or how much emphasis is placed on) the detection of fraud?

    Hope this helps, mule
