You should save some and invest some, as saving or investing everything is not good. I would invest in stocks as in a year or 2 down the line its going to pay me back with more then what I will invest for sure.

There are lot's of ways how to invest $5000.

To my mind the best way to invest money is to invest in someone's business. It's safer and more profitable. I have invested in my friend's small business and now I am getting guaranteed 40% annual interest. If you have $5K principal you would earn up to $2K per year.

First I'd pay off any high-interest debt starting with the one at the higest rate.  If none, then I'd pay off any other debt, starting with the highest rate.  If you don't have any debt, decide if you want to take risk.  If not, go get a CD.  If you do, decide how much risk.  If you want low risk, go buy a bond, if you want higher risk and higher possible return, go for stocks.

I personally would put it into Forex trading. Roughly $100 of it towards a trading system and the rest into into trading.
