  1. Well considering those odds are fairly higher then what is the "norm" then probably not no, I wouldn't want to try to conceive a child I knew had a huge chance of being terminally ill for life, what kind of life is that for the child? I would put the child's best interest ahead of my own wants of having another child. I just couldn't do it knowing the child had a good chance of being terminal. Seems selfish to me. (sorry just my opinion not judgement on others)

  2. this is a very personal decision you should base on yourself only

    not "opinions" of others

i do think that if you love a child you love a child

it shouldn't matter if they are going to be unhealthy

besides you enter into pregnancy knowing this if you take that chance.

  3. Yes, because the rate of having a healthy baby is still very high.  The other thing I think would make me say no is if I was okay with adoption or donor (sperm, egg or embryo) and/or if the child would suffer before becoming demised.  I lost a 2nd trimester pregnancy so I know what it's like to lose a child.  I still grief for her but I never regreted conceiving her.  The odds of losing another "genetically normal" baby is low but the odds of having a miscarriage due to genetic reasons are high for us due to being over 35 but were still going to try.

So it all depends on how badly you want a child.

  4. what kind of question is this?

  5. Of course.  Why would anyone not take the 75% (great) chance of conceiving a normal healthy child.

The better question is if you already had one terminally unhealthy child, would you do it again with the same odds?  And my answer to that would also be yes.

  6. Your question is not a matter of  community answers is a matter of self conscience including your own health risks and specially long term baby health risks, not forgetting that you have a partner that in any case his opinion is the one that counts.A baby is a gift  from God and your love should be unconditional. Good luck! Take Care.

  7. Sure.  Because you'd have a 75% chance of conceiving a perfectly healthy child.
