If you had a g2 or m2 lisence in canada and were moving to the states, would you have to do another test?

If I have my m2 license in canada and was moving into the usa, would i be able to have my license transfered or would i have to do tests all over again to get an american license?

  1. Technically, yes you may have to do a road test. It all depends on what state you're moving too. Find out the state laws regarding licence trasfers by checking on the state Transportation Website.

    But, actually, a friend of mine who lived here in Ontario moved down to Ohio, she only had a G1 and because their licencing system works differently they were really confused when she went to switch her licence over and just gave her a FULL licence. Pretty funny cuz she's a horrible driver.

    If you can you may want to get your G and M before you move. If not I doubt it'd be a big deal to switch. And if you luck out you may not need anymore testing lol!
