  1. It might be good it could help you build your confidance under a watchful eye and give you a precursor to the non-family real world.  It will also help you gain skills to go on and do other things in life that are not motored by nepotism.

  2. I would take it if it's a good job. Sometimes there can be tension. It's kind of like not mixing business with pleasure.

  3. Bob,

What kind of a job are you talking about?

Also, any job in which you're learning responsibility such as needing to be consistently punctual and doing your job beyond what is expected is a good level to begin when you're just starting out.

If this particular job has any questionable content, such as anything that would place you or someone else in physical or mental/emotional danger, then this would defeat the purpose of getting a good start in life.

    Cheers.

  4. Take it. Any experience really helps. I took a job my aunt helped me get, it was my first internship and I got a break, because I kept getting shut down everywhere bc no one wants a college student with no business experience. Its a competitive world- so go for it, it will help  you move up

  5. The best way to get a job is through family and friends and contacts.  The absolute best.  But that is not to be confused with working for a family member or friend. That is very bad for relationships.  But if you do get a job because of a contact you have, do your job well and with honesty and hard work so that the contact your contact had will still remain solid.  Good luck.  My husband was just out of a job for 2 months and finally found a great one!

  6. There are pros and cons to this situation. I know alot of ppl who work in my company who are related to the boss or a sister.

PROS - You have a job and no money problems.  You know someone who already works there or knows the environment and can guide you (assuming your relative works there or used to work there and has a good reputation.)

CONS - You are indebted to the person who got u the job and you have an added pressure to perform well. You also can't quit the job right away because it ruins the other person's image (the one who got u the job).

    Good Luck!!
