I first had s*x when I was 15 and I want my son to wait much longer to explore s*x. I thought I could handle it, thought I was prepared, but I was not. I was not emotionally mature enough, nor would I have been prepared to handle a child if I had become pregnant.

Because we are not the same people, I could not begin to determine or wish for them the best time to enter into that phase in their life, in relation to my decisions.  I would, of course, like to say later...but I would simply want them to be fully prepared and mature enough to handle the responsibility of their decision.

I would say only have s*x with someone you married, but because of the way our culture is (divorce, late marriges, economy,etc.) I would tone it down to the person you love and plan to marry, but over 18.

Well, I want my kids to have s*x when they are married. I was 18 when I had s*x for the first time, but I was also married. So, as long as their married, I don't care.

I lost my hymen at 8 yrs old when a relative shoved his fingers into me. and i lost my actual virginity( actual s*x)  at 10 yrs old...and i had already done sexual stuff before that starting at 6 yrs old.. I gave my first hand job at that age.

If things had progressed normally for me as far as s*x goes..I am not really sure when I would have started.

but as things are now...im nearly 30 and have been celibate for almost 15 yrs. i have a strong aversion to being touched.

It took me a long time to even be tolerable of hugging. and even now..im still not too find of it.

I would hope that they would wait until I did, I waited until I was out of school.  But I'm a realist, so I will teach them from the moment they can understand that if they are going to have s*x, they are going to do it with protection.

I lost my virginity at 18, and I think that's an acceptable age. But I wouldn't want to hear about it unless major problems ensued (i.e. pregnancy, STDS, etc.), or until they were WAY older.

I think s*x is a great part of life, and when it's not overly romanticized or done irresponsibly (i.e. without condoms), it's great.  I first masturbated at the age of 12 (which I actually do consider to be s*x), fooled around with oral and manual s*x and touching, and then finally had vaginal intercourse at age 17.

I think teenagers are unhappy when they are madly horny and their parents want them to still be kids.  If my kids want to have s*x when they are 13, so be it.  Though I'd recommend that they tried masturbating first.  I'd have given them a ton of information about safe s*x by then- can't lock them up.

Oh, and I am 22 now.

I have an 18-year-old daughter and I'm not looking to keep her locked up and then cutting her loose to fend for herself when she's in her 30s. She has not been in any great rush to have s*x and often jokes that she will probably still be a virgin when she's 40. If you treat girls with respect and don't be overprotective of them, you will find that most of them do exhibit common sense and will wait until they are in a serious relationship to have s*x.

I think teenagers develop at all different ages, and it isn't just the individual it's when the relationship is ready. I think more emphasise should be on when the relationship is ready, not the person.

So it's all based on the individual maturity and the kind of relationship they are in.

I had s*x with a woman for the first time, with my wife, after our marriage, when I was 31.  

It was my choice and decision to riot inside a women's body only if I make a lifelong commitment with her.

Now I see what a total fool I was.  Nobody cares what you think about having s*x and withholding s*x is not an achievement.  So my advice is to f**k your brains out when ever you are ready for it.  Age does not matter.  Some women assure size does not matter either, so may be one can have s*x at the youngest age allowed by laws.

I started having s*x with my now husband at 19.  I wouldn't mind that situation at all.  I think 17 and up would be okay as well as long as my child was practicing safe s*x.

artistlove85- I truly believe you need to educate yourself.  In many states teachers and other involved with children are required to inform Social Services (that means report the parents) if a child is having or performing sexual acts on other under the age of 14.  From what you have deemed acceptable, you would be guilty of possibly several cases child abuse.

I would agree that masturbation is a sexual act, however it is not s*x.  You did not lose your virginity at12.
