  1. A nice relaxing secluded beach vacation for me, my family, and friends. Just ot have time with the people I love where I can feel normal and get away from all the hospitals and things like that. Just some place to have fun for a change and forget about the cancer for a little while.

  2. I myself would wish for a cure to all cancers so that no one would have to undergo what we cancer patients have had to endure and those who have passed on. Also in that wish I would also pray that everyone is ready to go to Heaven and have made their peace with the Lord. That would be my 1 wish and I think it would be the most important in my life.

  3. To be cured of the cancer and live to see myself get married have kids

I pray for your friend I lost my sister last year

    God Bless

  4. Vacations are nice but what many people might not realize is that often the person getting the wish is undergoing monthly chemotherapy treatments, radiation, or surgery. I have known many kids who just had a really difficult time with planning a vacation successfully around their treatments. Sometimes, if possible, they wait until after their active treatment .  . but that can be hard too.

The kids I have known have done a few of these things for their Make a Wish (some did go on vacations after their treatments).

Computer Gaming system with Internet, camera, printer, monitor, ipod,. . all technology wish

Home Theater with popcorn machine, cushy chairs, movies, movie theater candy, posters, DVD player, video gaming systems like Wii and games

Small sail boat and all gear

    Motocross camp

Shopping at mall of america or shopping at Best Buy - basically can select anything they want in a certain time period (three or four hours)

Attending a movie premiere and meeting a celebrity

Throwing the first pitch of the season opener of a major league baseball game . . meeting the players

    Swimming with the dolphins

Going on a family vacation to Give Kids the World at Disney (special place for children with life threatening illness - doctors and nurses available).

Usually what the Make a Wish team will do is come and talk to your friend and find out what some of the things he would like to do or have . . than they will make a list . . he will select three possible wishes. I think they usually get the first thing they've wished for . . but they ask for two others just in case there are problems.

It's a lot of fun for the person, his friends, and family and it will take his mind off treatment for awhile.

    Best wishes to him. Enjoy!

  5. take a tour of NASA

visit a dude ranch out west

take him to a sporting event of his choice

    disneyland or disney world

  6. If this boy is a sports fan,  I would think maybe a trip to see a game by his favorite team and then a chance to actually meet the players would be a wonderful dream come true kind of wish.  They always take the entire immediate family on these trips so it could be anywhere in the country and to any team... The Make A Wish people know how to arrange these things  as they do it all the time.   Most teams that are visited by these kids and their families are VERY receptive and gracious to the families as well...

  7. I wish...

That cancer never existed, that all those with it were instantly healed.  I wish that 15 year old boys and girls only had to worry about doing homework and how to ask the person they may have a crush on out for a first date.

Knowing what a good friend you are to your friend is a blessing to both you and him.  I am sure his parents appreciate your help, and concern.  Cancer is difficult at any age, but especially to those so young.

Cancer changes perceptions...it makes living the focus of the caregivers and cancer patients the main concern in their lives.  Appreciation of the moment, and faith and trust in God.

When I found out my wife was diagnosed with cancer, our lives forever changed.  I am not the person I was a month ago.  (found out July 1st).  After five chemo treatments...the tumor in her breast has reduced by half, so we keep praying.

God bless you and your friend.
