If you had the chance to go on a "ghost hunt" with real paranormal researchers would you?

While attending a ghost walk in our city over the week-end, my friend and I talked to representatives from two places that conduct "ghost hunts" and allow the general public to attend, for a fee of course ($20 for one & $30 for the other). You go from 9 PM to 5 AM and can leave whenever you want. You are asked to bring a camera and a tape recorder and conduct a survey. One of these places is in Bethel, New York and was on Ghost Hunters. It used to be a school, a funeral home and an insane asylum. We are going to that one.

Would you go?

  1. Yes I would.I don't think people who run Ghost tours or "hunts"are researchers though.I'd wonder how unbiased they'd be.

  2. That sounds like spooky fun. The fee is a little steep, but I'd do it. In fact, I'm doing a "ghost tour" this Sunday in Chicago and I'm really looking forward to it.

  3. It might be entertaining, but there is no such thing as a "real paranormal researcher". Real researchers would not charge you for watching them do their research.

  4. It would be an interesting experience.  Of course, as a skeptic, I would probably spend more time examining the investigative methods used by these investigators than I would actually looking for ghosts.  For that matter, since the surefire cure for a haunting is bringing in a skeptic, I am fairly certain nothing would turn up anyway.

I love old buildings, so this might be fun.  I would have to turn on the lights though.

  5. sounds to me like a great way to stir up some cash. Maybe I should try this out, charge to go on my ghost investigations and quit my job...............hmmmmmm

Oh yeah, my best pics come during the daylight. there is less stuff to reflect off of , your not using flash photography. No shadows unless there is a reason for a shadow. and you can see everything around the shot. These pics are much harder to debunk.

  6. Yes, it'd be a blast!  Make sure you take plenty of pics and share some with us?  I wonder if there are any in Nebraska?  I don't think too many people here would acknowledge such a thing as a ghost hunter. :(  What's a ghost walk?  Sometimes I regret living in a small town!  Have fun!

  7. What is a "real paranormal researcher"?

From what I've seen on television "real" reaserchers use illogic like this: "the volt meter changed when we walked into the room. We can't explain why, therefore that prooves that there are ghosts in the room".

  8. u know it being broad daylight an all i'd say i would, but by the time i got there i'd prolly be too freaked out! but wow what an opportunity, n thats not very expensive either.. i say go for it! plus since u can leave whenever u want u know, u have nothing 2 lose. :D

  9. Oh yes I would love to go on ghost hunts!! I think it stinks that you have to pay. I am an ammuture ghosthunter myself...but I would rather just get advice from them...I would do the ghosthunts on my own.

  10. Yes.  I have a friend who is a member of a paranormal research club in our area, (small city, not much professional anything around here) and he has invited me to go on several excursions with him and his group.  It is great fun for me, and I try to remember to keep an open mind and enjoy the experience for what it is worth and not get all hung up on expectations about what I will find or not find.

He also performs civil war reenactments, so many of the venues we visit have long paranormal histories and make for exiting adventures.

  11. Of course!! Esp. if Jason ( :-) is there !!!!!!

  12. with out a doubt i would love to go on a ghost hunt with people who know what there doing

  13. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

(AND DON'T TELL THEM WHERE I LIVE EITHER !!!!)

If I went on a ghost hunt...they'd all follow me home..so count me out!!!

  14. no. i once lived in a house that had what i thought was a poltergeist in it. it scared the **** out of me and my girlfriend. my girlfriend had to move out. if you experienced anything like we did for real, you would c**p yourself.

definitely NOT like the movies or tv drama nonsense/rubbish.

for starters, you are so scared shitless that the very first thing you do is to put every single light ON in the house...

can't explain what we experienced, and none of it makes any sense, and i'm a full-on sceptic when it comes to paranormal stuff you see on tv.

    enjoy being ripped off.

  15. Yes, I would go.  I don't believe in ghost, but it sounds like a hoot.

As far as real researchers,  I don't believe that there are any that I know of.  Real scientists do not seem to want to waste their time with this. Probably for obvious reasons.

I enjoy watching the Ghost Hunter show though, and think it is very funny.  It sometimes reminds me of a ghost movie I saw with Don Knotts, called the "Ghost and Mr. Chicken".  The sidekicks on the show are hilarious.

I wouldn't be very good on it though, because I would be giving them logical explanations for the creaks and other phenomena that they attribute to ghosts.  Don't think that would be what they are looking for.  Ha.

    Have fun.  Boo.

  16. Yes, I am a paranormal investigator! I love it!

  17. well i dnt like ghosts...so wud prefer nt to go...but sounds real exciting...

  18. Abso-freaking-lutely!!!

  19. Can you spell    S-C-A-M,  I knew you could!

  20. Yeah, if someone went in every room with me. It would be very exciting (and terrifying)
