I think that would be an awesome opportunity!!  I don't think that I could do anything that someone else doesn't have already in play though.  Clean water, better nutrition, medications, education and safe s*x practices to reduce the spread of AIDS.  I'm also a photographer so I would be taking photographs the entire time to let the world know what it's like there.  I think that a lot of people live in a comfy bubble that needs to be broken sometimes.

Funny that you ask!  I always think about that, and I am in nursing school now.  After my children are old enough to be on their own, I would really like to travel to Africa to provide healthcare to the sick children.  That is what I would do, and prob will do someday :)

You have to deal with the problem why children in Africa have a problem.  

First.  Remove all foreign owners from the gold/diamond/silver mines of Africa.  Kick De Beers (the number one diamond stealer's) out of that country so that the profit from this precious metal goes to the country, hence to the children of that country.  That's what I would do first.

Think about it.  Africa is the world's largest diamond and metal producers but the people are the poorest.  Go figure.

to truly help the children in Africa, we need to help them be AFRICAN children.  what we have done to Africa, as the "white man" is disgusting.   especially in southern Africa.  If no one has realized this yet, all this campaign is doing is stripping them of their identity and replacing it with a European one.  Put them in uniforms, like we do.  make them go to school and learn English.  teach them the Christian way of life.  Put pipelines in so more time can be spent learning to be us, instead of getting exercise.  Make them feel their dirty for living naturally, the way they've been doing for thousands of years, and let me say, they're doing a much better job at being human than we are.  Africa doesn't need European schools.  look at South Africa- taken over by rich white people and damning the natives to conform or die.  so what do we do when there's a serious plight going on?  we take the children of those who died of AIDS (the younger the better) and we put them in schools that strip them of their stories, language, culture, we turn them into whatever we want and make them forget about their own values.  so.  if i had a chance to help, i would stay out of it and let them be who they are.  No strings (tampon or otherwise) attached.  And i must say, as much as it kills me to do so, due to the quality of product, I and a group of 57 girls that agree with me, will be taking our feminine product business elsewhere until we can be assured that our money isn't going to the suppression of someone else's culture.  anyone who would like to join us, we would be very grateful.

I have sent money over seas for years.. Then I left my small home town in Mich and traveled around the U.S.  The one that come over here and abuse our free money system.. and they hate America .. still they would do anything to drag it down and these foreign mooches are getting free thousands of dollars a month..

The kids grow up learning English and get educated now they are taking our jobs sent to them and the government are sending these people fed, housed and educated by me to take all our jobs.. that are left..

They are dieing of aids and are not only to stubborn to work, they are to lazy to put on a condum.. so they kill each other and look to us to give them medicine.. so they can live and spread more aids and make more starving babies..

They not only are so lazy they are killing each other... they must get a perverted kick out of seeing their babies starving, flies and maggets crawling on them.. they see this and make more.. feel good without a condumm

I would find a way to get a government thats NOT corrupt to start with. Then I would move on to agriculture, teach them how to be self sufficeint, give them the tools to do so.

These two things would hopefully stop the violence. And people wouldnt be hungry =)

I prefer to help my society first. There are many children in the U.S. who need things, we just don't advertise it like africa does. I would adopt a homeless child around my daughter's age from the U.S. if I had the extra money

I would like to see that they have enough shelters, food, medical clothes,education etc and want any help for anything else, i dont like it when they suffer and you see a rich tycoon like Bill Gates, and Bernie Ecclestone, etc sit down to a rich luxury meal and waste half of what they have ordered when some poor people are starving and have nowhere to go etc.
