I can't understand why anyone would give a thumbs down to any of you. I never give them.

  1. Gayn R, you have room for one more?

Yes, who wouldn't? I really think it's sad we aren't on Mars yet. Since humans first originated, in their most primitive sense, we've been a species defined by migration and exploration.

First out of Africa after Toba almost wiped us out, throughout Asia and Europe. Then to islands, which must have been terrifying. Crossing an ice bridge to north and then south America.

Then we got to the moon, and Mars was just on the horizon, and then... what happened? I don't know. But I would love to go, and would sign up in a heartbeat if the chance was given to me.

Besides, I totally believe that if we don't get off this planet we humans are gonna kill ourselves off soon enough, one way or another.

  2. of course! who wouldnt? i'd get to go to mars! :D the unexplored...

  3. In a heartbeat, provided there were no silly requirements like actually being qualified or anything. It would be the ultimate "what's over the next hill" trip and I've been fascinated in that my whole life.

Somebody's said "No, it might fail" Can't blame someone for thinking that, but if everyone said that, NOTHING would get tried that first time.

  4. No, because I would be afraid that anything bad would happen at the Martian expedition =]

  5. no, i would wait untill all of the rough spots (slow travel, radiation poisoning, cramped conditions) were ironed out.

  6. I would for sure, just because i have been interested in Martian caves and lava tubes, Mars could provide some great spelunking opportunities and it would give me a chance to see how Mars geology would differ from Earths, i also think Martian lava tubes could provide fast shelter opportunities for bases and outposts in the near future, what i wouldn't give to have an electric dirt bike to go ripping around Mars on.

  7. im leading the expedition next saturday if interested?

  8. Yes, because it would almost be an adventure, and a scientific experience.

  9. YES!1!

I grew up on Star Trek: The Next Generation. The science might be as realistic as The Lord of the Rings, but it instilled in me a curiosity of the universe. Going on a Mars expedition would be like commanding the frigg'n USS Enterprise for real! Even if they said my name would not be mentioned and they would take everything I own I would go (though I don't really own much). I would be living my dream.

  10.   No, likely the first attempt will fail.

  11. This would be the chance of anyone's lifetime. No matter who or what you are, how wealthy, poor, stupid, smart, etc. Nobody gets out of this world alive. So, while one is alive, go for the gusto! Yes, I'd go in a heartbeat!
