  1. No, I wouldn't put my life on the line to be disrespected, attacekd and assualted by people like Nancy Pelosi who I'm fighting for. Also, on the off chance Obama becmes President I wouldn't serve under him.

  2. I recommend reading Mark Miller's six-issue comic "War Heroes" for a take on this.  To sum up:  enrollment is down, so the military decides to grant superpowers to every recruit.  BTW, Millar is the writer of the movie "Wanted" with that skinny chick.

  3. i would have joined the AF when i was 18 (i'm 26 now) but i didn't even think about it, i would join now but i married an airman and would get to see him even less if i joined, i would definately serve my country if they needed me though

  4. I, without hesitation would enlist.  I have enjoyed safety, security and freedom because others have served and sacrificed for me and others.  Call it repayment of a moral debt.

  5. I think any one can join right now it is a question of rather they want too or not for me I am the wife of a soldier. we decided not to be in the military together for relationship reasons if we both deploy both of us would be stressed about eachother and if we ever had children our children would wind up in and out of families homes if we ever deployed both of us would never get to see eachother even if we were at home together so mabe later on after he gets out I can join up

  6. Yes, I regret that I didn't when I was young enough. I would love to now but am too old.

  7. Absolutely NOT!!! If McCain gets in office I get deployed to Iraq and if Obama gets in I go to Afganistan. This is not the time to join the military.

  8. No, I would not. My husband would probably divorce me if I did (and rightfully so). He already serves and he believe it's the man's job to provide. I'll stay here, support him, be a good wife, and continue bringing in extra money with my business.

  9. Nope.

I served in Central America in the 1980's - and the Democrats betrayed me for political gain.

I served in Iraq in 2004 - and the Democrats betrayed me for political gain.

At this point I no longer feel the American people are worth defending.

  10. I would, and here's my reasoning:

    Pros:

I would get to handle weaponry on a regular basis

I would be taught how to defend myself

Discipline would be ingrained in my brain

I believe that I would enjoy it

    Cons:

I wouldn't be able to pursue some of my hobbies

I wouldn't be able to keep my animals

I would have to put college plans on hold

I'd probably be infantry - something that I'd dislike

    My parents would disown me.

I'd still do it. xD Only if it were Navy, though.

  11. In a heartbeat.

The civilian sector has lost its way in that there is no longer any flavor of faithfulness to the worker - where you used to be able to get hired at 18 and KNOW that you have a job there until you retired at 62.  Now, businesses hire and fire with little warning and little caring.  The military doesn't do that - just do your job and you'll have a job until you retire (in the huge majority of cases! The ones that don't have years of warning.).

The amount of training and experience that the military provides can set you up for a wonderful civilian career - and it's training and experience that doesn't come cheap, and is very difficult for young civilians to get.

For cons, well, you may actually have to perform the mission for which you are hired - and go into a combat situation.

You have to move every so often (2-3-4 years) - but I personally consider this a PRO, so who knows - some might consider it a con.

Seperations from your family is a big con - it isn't bad when you are single, but once you end up with a spouse and kids, the seperations suck.

But I'd still do it again in a heartbeat.

  12. yes i would i believe in fightin for my country and putting my life on the line for my family friends and other american citizens!!! and im planing to join unlike u selfish spoiled couradus people!!!!! im 17 im joining next year!!

  13. I joined the Air Force about two weeks ago. Now I'm waiting to go to bmt.

  14. If lets say.. Russia, China, or both declared war on us right now, I would join. If there was a draft, I would accept it if I was called upon (regardless of the situation).

  15. We all "except one to old" can join the Military right now!

  16. well having done already retied as a navy combat medic with 1st Marines- 2 tours in Iraq and the gulf war. I would love to continue my career with the military. If i knew then what I know now, I would say yes I'd join. It was all a positive experience for me all 15 yrs.
