I'm 19 & from Scotland, I've always wanted to travel, do volunteer work but I've never really had enough money (since you need a lot). But there's a company that helps you work abroad, it's especially for University students (it's all legitimate! been around for ages, heard it's great first hand etc). They help you find work, accomodation etc etc. You can work in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & Africa. I have always wanted to visit America and want to do it soon, before I finish Uni and need to get a job etc. I'm thinking of going there in summer 2009 with this company and was wondering, would you do it? I really want to but I need to save because I have to live and study abroad for a year with Uni from Sept 2009-10, so I should be using my savings for that and not flights to America etc. If you had this opportunity when you were younger would you do it? have you done it? your opinions please!

mucho gratitude!

  1. you have to do it!!!

there is a lot of organization, who offer work and travel programms fo students, i think it is great. i had one of this , no regrets, you can work and earn money, you can spend it on travel and see the country, you will get a lot of friends!!

so , you will get some kind of experience(depends where you work), you will see how is it to live on your own, and it can help you to make up your mind about what you want for the future. at least it was for me.. good luck!

  2. Do it, do it, do it! Take advantage of the opportunity while you can. You are young and are right in thinking, "Just do it". You will never know the experiences and people that you missed out on if you don't. I'd say, still keep track of your savings and keep saving, but go and have a good time.

  3. You should definately do it!  Not alot of people get oppertunity like that.  I think if you don't do it, it will be something that you regret later in life.

  4. save for your life..do not be tempted by wonderous things in the unknown...once your life is secured..then be adventerous.

  5. JUST DO IT!!!!!!!

  6. In 1999 my daughter invited my wife and i to join her backpacking in India for three weeks and caught the travel bug. We have been to 19 countries since and at 59 am looking forward to seeing a few more. So yes I took the opporunity and if that is your inclination so should you, you will see sights that will amaze you and learn a great deal from it. Yes I do wish we had started earlier but I also know that I have seen things that a huge majority of people never will. Just have the courage to do some thing with your life and the best of luck.

  7. Can't help you there I left home at 17 came back 25 years later. I do know if you wait 'till you are old you will not travel as much as you had planned. Be careful traveling abroad it's dangerous now days.
