I will be going to Europe the first 2 weeks of Sept '08 to visit a friend and travel Europe. She lives in Frankfort so we will go to a couple of places in Germany, Paris is a definite, and we're thinking about going to Prague. Italy is on my must list, I just can't decide where to go. We will probably go to a church and/or museum or 2, walk around and enjoy the architecture, may do a little shopping with the local merchants, eat some good food, and drink some wine. If we have enough time we might even take a day trip to a surrounding city. My guess is that we'll stay 2 or 3 days wherever we go, so what would your suggestion be in choosing between the 3 cities or do you have a better recommendation? Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated because this will probably be my only trip to Europe and I want to make the most of the time I have. Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

  1. Venice! It's the most unusual although they are all wonderful.

  2. Venice..but what from what i heard take really good care of your things because they can get stolen...

  3. venice!

its the nicest and most beautiful place

    but i also love rome....

    =D

  4. All three are worth visiting. Which one first depends on your interests. When I moved to Italy, I went to Florence first to see the Uffizi and David at the Accademia. Fortunately, I live close enough to get to any of the three for a day trip. It's 2 and a half hours between Venice and Florence on the Eurostar trains (fast train). Florence to Rome is 1 and a half hours. You could go to Rome for a couple of days and take a day trip to Florence or vice versa. A day trip from Venice to Florence isn't too difficult either. Florence is fairly compact and you can cover a lot in a day. If you're coming on the train, Venice will be less travel time.

  5. absolutely ROMEE"!!!!CAUSE YOU CANT SAY :I VISITED ITALYY!!"IF YOU HAVENT VISITED ROME!!

CUZ THE VIEVOF THE CITY ITS WONDERFUL..AND THERE ARENT WORD TO DESCRIBE THE EMOTION I TRY EVERY DAY WHILE IM WATCHING IT..

CUZ PEOPLE COME FROM ROMA ARE TOO FUNNY AND LOVELY..CUZ IF THEY ARENT LOVELY U DONT THINK THEYRE BAD(because the "atmosphere"is so romantic)..CUZ ROME IS ROME!!ù

i live in rome and i love it..venice is beautifull 2...i dont mind florence. but ROMA è LA MEJOO!!! my dream is go to live in usa..but rome will be 4e in my heart

  6. venice is just so beautiful and theres so much to see. :)

  7. If I HAD to choose only one, I'd say go to Venice.  It's very unique being on the water, with canals, bridges, boats, beaches, and great architecture and history.  Next choice would be Rome because of all the variety. Florence has a lot of art and is smaller and more relaxing than Rome, so if you're not a big city lover, you might prefer Florence.

BUt if you have 3 days you can do Venice and Florence.  Rome is farther and I'd like a week or more for Rome.

  8. i will choose venice coz it's vary romantic !

  9. seekonk  MA

  10. I'd go to Venice.  It's always intrigued me.  I hear that it's best if you just "get lost" and wander around and you find the most amazing places.
