which way wud u choose and why? going through US or Canada, money is not an issue and its a permanent move from windsor to calgary. Like with a car full of stuff lamps, suitcases, etc crossing the border seems stressful they might think your going to stay in the states, how would you overcome this? or is it better to go through Canada?

  1. Since you are bringing all of your household belongings with you, I would suggest an all Canada route.  You would have to go through customs in both Detroit and either Minnesota or North Dakota....something that I would not want to do with all my household items.

One alternative is to hire a moving company to move all of your household items (as money is not an issue).  This way, you would only need items needed for travel.  In this case, you could either go up thru Michigan and cross into the UP and through northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.  This way is very scenic and it is a very pretty drive.

Or else, if you have never been in Chicago, you can drive the southern route thru Chicago, north to Milwaukee and then over to Madison, up to Duluth and into Canada, or up to Minneapolis to Fargo and then to Canada.  More cities to see, a more stressful drive, especially thru Chicago in which the roads are always overcrowded!
