  2. No. I don't have a gun.

    You do need to be very careful if shooting an animal at close range. A captive bolt device is safer than a bullet.

  3. I had to shoot a duck once that got mauled by my dogs and I shot it at point blank range in the brain since that was the quickest way to end its suffering. I didn't want to kill the duck, but I had no choice since not even a vet could save it.

  4. Not likely. I have had to kill animals that way before.
