If you had to kill a wounded animal would you put one in its brain?

No. I don't have a gun.

You do need to be very careful if shooting an animal at close range. A captive bolt device is safer than a bullet.

I had to shoot a duck once that got mauled by my dogs and I shot it at point blank range in the brain since that was the quickest way to end its suffering. I didn't want to kill the duck, but I had no choice since not even a vet could save it.
