Myself, I would keep my sense of hearing. My greatest fear is going deaf. I could not live without ever hearing music again. So, I ask you, which of the five main senses would you keep if you had to lose the other four?

  1. I would keep my sight.  The sheer thought of living in darkness for the rest of my life terrifies me....

  2. Hearing would be an extremely hard one to give up - but then you usually lose your hearing when you are old - still I think I would still have to say I would not want to give up my sight most of all.  It's a lot easier for people to get around with sight.

  3. I'd keep my sight,,

I don;t want to miss a minute of my kids growing up,

And i want to see very bit of it

  4. for me its sense of sight.  it is my greatest fear in life if i cannot see my love once especially my children, i really dont want to lose sight of them.

  5. Sight , I  would keep my sight, Because I would learn to lip read and I could still see the sunset. I am sure my 6th sense would be up graded too with the other sense taken away.

  6. smell

  7. vision.  It is the tougest one to vercome the loss of.

  8. Touch or course. I like to feel everything I do ,especially at night. Do  you get my drift!

  9. This is tough.  I have a friend when we were in high school who was deaf.  She adapted well. She learned to read lips, she learned to speak, she learned to sign, and best of all, she graduated 5th in a class of 192.  She is a teacher for the deaf today.

She lost her hearing when she was less than a year old.

In the other end, one of my taekwondo students is blind.  He lost his vison a few years ago.  I have seen him adapt, but it's not been easy.  He does his moves, but isnt' able to execute things properally because he cannot see how to do them.  Even when I would have him hold my hand or foot to feel what is right, he struggles.  It could be that he's just been in martial arts for 8 months and lost his vision only a few years back.  In other things, he still is a top reader in his class, and reads braile.

Another person I grew up with, has an 8 year old son, who is blind.  He was born blind.  He competes in special olympics events, is top in math, and top in reading.  I've not met him, but his mother says he does more than she ever imagined.

I've been told when you lose a sence, others can take over.

    I believe it.

If I had to lose 4 of my 5 seneses I would lose my hearing.  I can still have a job if I can see.  I can still speak.  I can still write.  I would still be able to drive.  I could feel music vibrations.

Though I would miss the sound of a child's laugh, a martial arts yell, and music.

  10. Eyesight, the world is too beautiful to miss

  11. i think vision, because although people say your eyes can be decieved, in conjunction with your limbs, not touch, just the extremities, they are dang hard to fool, but ears can be tricked by silence

  12. It's a close call between seeing and feeling, but I'll probably go with touch.

I absolutely cannot bear not being able to feel anything. Sure, I would be surrounded by a world of darkness and silence, but at least I can still touch and feel things. At least I know what the cold is.. or what heat is. I can imagine it in my mind, and what the clanking sounds like, so yeah...

I need to feel the texture. Though roughness of bark, the smoothness of skin... I'll  probably be instantly killed (like, crossing a walk way or something) so I'll always have to be in my house, but at least I can feel around...

    But ugh. Really, just, touch.

  13. i would keep my eyes...it s harder if u can t see much harder then deaf

  14. I'd say sight. Everything else can't beat it.

  15. I would have to say eyesight because of all the beauty in the world.

However, it would be a close call between taste and hearing. I love food and music.

  16. There is nothing like having common sense....when you lose that, you might as well be totally senseless ;>)!!!!!

  17. I would lose smell...

wait...unless taste is bad without smell...then i would lose taste...id still be able to smell what I eat at least
