    Hope that helps!  :)

And just an awesome preschool site:

  3. In my preschool classroom, I write a monthly newsletter, using the format on themailbox.com (the education magazine). I begin with a greeting. You could say something like, "March is here and we're looking forward to Spring!" Also, in this section I thank parents for any help they've offered in my room or donations they've made. Just let them know they're appreciated. Next, I have a section where I discuss what we'll be learning about in that month. (themes, special activities) I recognize monthly birthdays in another section.  I remind them of any holidays or party days. Finally, I have a section that I always say, "Let me know if you have any questions, concerns or if you would like a conference." and i tell them my hours. It's also helpful to let parents know of any changes to your classroom or curriculum in your newsletter.

  4. Include:

--Introduction and welcome to the parents.

    --Anything new this month.

--Philosophy of your method.  Something having to do with this.  Maybe a teacher enjoys writing and would like to do this part.

    Matt

  5. Welcome new parents to the pre-school (we have several new families and we would like to welcome Billy/Joe/Jane and their families to the setting, please feel free to ask any questions about **** pre-school) and say something to the existing parents (Welcome to the Spring term of ****** pre-school we hope you all had a good holiday/half term and we look forward to seeing you all again this term).

Tell them any news relating to the pre-school (any new staff, or staff leaving, anything new to the building/ equipment,  fund raising events etc.).

Tell them what the curriculum is this term and what the children will be learning.  Ask the parents to contribute by sending in items from home with their child for the interest table/ show and tell.  Ask them to re-enforce what you are learning at home.

Remind parents that they are always welcome to come in to talk to staff about their child's development.  Suggest making an appointment if this is preferred by your pre-school.

Remind parents of any rules the children need to adhere to i.e wearing soft shoes, not wearing jewellery, bringing a bag etc.

Mention any up-coming pre-school events or events in the community that may be of interest to the parents and children.  i.e Easter egg hunt.
