If you had water flowing out of a pipe, how would you tell the difference between turbulent or laminar flow?

i need to draw a picture as well so if someone can scan their image.. it would help a lot in understanding the logic behind the answer. thanks

  1. This sounds too simple, but you look. The first source is turbulence water, the second one is the laminar flow.

    Example 1 is an example of turbulent flow. It is usually white and has lots of eddies, rough and is more chaotic.

    Example 2 is an example of a laminar flow. It is clear and smooth.
