If you happen to be a sports writer for a town or network, how did you go about getting the job?

Following sports is my life and I am a senior in advanced writing classes and thinking I could go into journalism. Just thought I could get some input as to how to go about getting a sportswriting job. THANKS!

wrote a few guest articles for them and they offered me a part time, which became full time when they expanded......
