How much time do you spend with each rat and do you take them out separately or all together? I have 3 girl rats and when I take them all out together i find it hard to keep control or them all what do you do when you take out all your rats at once? How do you spend your time with your rats? Do you play games (what games and how to play) or just one on one time?

Thanks for you help

  1. i didn't have rats, but i had 4 mice! I took my mice out one at a time and hand fed them treats, give them something they had never seen before, one i used to put in a mouse ball and let her run around and follow me, otherwise i just petted them and let them climb on me or explore the desk/table i was sitting at.

  2. I have 4 dumbo rats , what i do is  take them all out   put 3 in their balls and let them run around while i spend quality time with one for 15- 30 minutes and then switch, i also have a portable dog pen  that i can sit in there with them  and play with all 4 there ..its good to have toys and treats with you  though cause they can curious really quickly.

  3. Its really fun to have all 4 of my girlies out at once! they climb all over you. I tend to just tickle them or wrestle with them (pretend my hands another rat) or as sad as it sounds my rats will follow me round i i crawl but when they get board they will climb up my arms and ride on my back it looks really funny.

Also i hide treat around my room and they have to find them. Any thing simple will amuse them cat scratcher post things, boxes with holes in or mine love to swim just make sure they don't get too cold

    Hope I helped janie

  4. my roommates and i have 3 rats, and we sort of rat-proofed our couch, which has a shelf behind it, so they can run all over the couch and shelf without climbing into any dangerous places.  (by rat-proofed i mean we used some blankets and duct tape to cover any holes or openings where they might crawl into the couch etc.)  we even made them a little cubby area with some blankets and a litter box.  we try to take them all out together so that none of them get lonely.  if you have an area where they can run around freely without escaping or getting into anything they shouldn't, that can help contain them while you handle each one separately.  our boys are still really young so we're trying to spend as much time handling them as possible so that they get used to us, but they love exploring the play area we made for them.

  5. my friend had um 2 males 1 female bred so 3 of each

she got all out one on each sholder and maybee one with a friend or just all of the rats running around on the floor

they  can run round sniffing and you could watch tv or anything

  6. Female rats are typically more active than males, so it WOULD be harder to keep track of all of them at once. I liked to put my 3 rats in the bathtub.....put lots of toys in with them...NO WATER!!!! Place treats around the tub, and then get them out one by one to spend "quality time" with each of them....you can even just shut the bathroom door and let them out on the floor. There usually aren't any places a rat can get into in the bathroom, and shutting the door gives you more control of where they are.  By the way...rats LOVE yogart covered raisins. Call out their names, and when you get thier attention )with the name) give them a raisin...eventually they will learn their names and come when called. It's a good way to stimulate thier brains.
