Or is it impossible? I've been taking metformin for over a year my cycle has been "regular" (31days) and now this month...I did NOT menstruate I cramped here n' there, no period. I am also divorced my ex was slow mobility and my boyfriend now is healthier than a horse....(I took a test a week ago..negative)My Uterus also tends to "itch" inside...from time to time...no infection. Just a tingly feeling.

  1. I HATE when people say metformin is not for PCOS or it doesn't help with your period...if you don't know DON'T SAY ANYTHING

sorry about that...i just had to say it

  2. Menstruation is always the result of ovulation and then not getting pregnant.  No matter who you are, you can't menstruate without ovulating about 14 days prior.

Congrats on getting your cycle regular and your hormones regulated!  Since you're on medicine, your not as likely to skip periods.  I would recommend waiting another couple of weeks and trying the pregnancy test again.  If it's still negative, call your ob/gyn.  It's possible your meds need adjustment.

  3. metformin is a medication for diabetes, it has nothing to do with affecting the menstrual cycle. you can often ovulate and not get pregnant, and still not have a big period. sometimes spotting is all you will get. are you on any birth control? condom? if you are diabetic, the itching feeling often happens if the blood sugars are out of whack.
