If you have a HD TV does having Sky Hd make any difference to your viewing?

yes much better viewing,,,thats the plus,,,downside it costs an extra £10 per month for HD on 4 or 5 channels

It gives 4 times the quality or 4 times better than the normal digital picture. Yes the HD box has sky+ built in.

It does because Sky is transmitting the signal in HD - (Hi Def)

Although your telly is HD capable your regular channels (BBC1,2, Ch4, Ch5, UKTV, Dave) are all coming through as digital - not the same as thing as hi def.
